DISHONESTY AS A MARK OF OBASEKI

One of the reasons I could never support Godwin Obaseki as Governor of Edo State is because he runs ọn propaganda (euphemism for dishonesty ). I can give many examples like the propaganda that over 500 companies operate at the Benin industrial hub. This is largely untrue. The socalled Benin industrial hub is just a renovation of one or two blocks at former Ẹdo printing press in thẹ compound where the Magistrate Courts of Ẹdo State is situated. The over 500 companies are only in thẹ fertile imaginations of Obaseki and his supporters .

The other one is the campaign of Gelegele sea Port. Obaseki campaigned with this in 2016 and without a stone moved at the site, hẹ has started campaigning with it again in his quest for a second term. This is quite sad and shows that the man thinks wẹ are all dense. If hẹ could not do anything about the Gelegele sea Port since 2016, hẹ cannot do anything now.

The current propaganda that riles me is the one ọn thẹ display of pictures of new projects at AAU, Ekpoma and appropriating same as Obaseki projects. As my alma mater, I am happy that there are massive improvements there in thẹ last 7 years, but it must be noted that the works done there are TETFUND financed. You can Google to find out that TETFUND is a National education intervention fund and they have done much more gargantuan projects at Northern Universities.


TETFUND is almost like PTF and it is sad that Godwin Obaseki , for lack of what to showcase as his own projects, steals the projects of others to appropriate public praise and adulation. I cannot trust a dishonest man such as Obaseki. Hẹ should campaign ọn his own projects and wẹ will give him praise where necessary.

This desperate resort to demagogues cannot be sustained. In due season, wẹ shall ask questions about what Obaseki has done with the over 500 billion Naira that have acrued to Ẹdo State sọ far as it is hard to see What hẹ has done aside the roads constructed by NDDC and SEEFOR World Bank projects and the federal government TETFUND projects in AAU, Ekpoma and Ekiadolo; even the renovation of the Samuẹl Ogbemudia stadium was done by loans. What has Obaseki be doing to our federal allocations and internally generated revenue?

NB: this is not time to hurl insults at me but time for critical evaluations.

It was jubilation galore on Friday, 3rd July, 2020, as Edo North APC members came out in multitudes to welcome Home, Hon Gani Audu from Abuja after he had been made the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate recently. The DG candidate who arrived at about 4pm was met with a crowd of party Leaders, loyalists, Friends and Families at Ogbido Town, Uzairue.
