Npower has officially lunched the portal for 2020 in-take beneficiaries. The verified link web address according to Npower twitter handle is: http://npower.fmhds.gov.ng The Npower earlier instructed that interested candidate should make sure he or she enters correct Bio Data, especially BVN and Bank account among others. The registration which commenced on 26th June 2020 at about 11:45am is expected to end on 14th August 2020 by 11:45pm.  Recall that Npower has earlier last week announced the transition of Batches A and B into the so much enhancement scheme.  The decision which did not go down well with the beneficiaries have received wide condemnation by well meaning Nigerians as they said leaving 500,000 into labour would cause social disaster.

The US secretary of state  Mike Pompeo  has said Washington will impose visa restrictions on Chinese officials responsible for restricting freedoms in Hong Kong, but he did not name any of those targeted. The move on Friday comes ahead of a three-day meeting of China’s parliament from Sunday, which is expected to enact new national security legislation for  Hong Kong  that has alarmed foreign governments and democracy activists. DISHONESTY AS A MARK OF OBASEKI  By D.A.N Osa-Ogbegie, Esq.  One of the reasons I could never support Godwin Obaseki as Governor of Edo State is because he runs ọn propaganda (euphemism for dishonesty ). I can give many examples like the propaganda that over 500 companies operate at the Benin industrial hub. This is largely untrue. The socalled Benin industrial hub is just a renovation of one or two blocks at former Ẹdo printing press in thẹ compound where the Magistrate Courts of Ẹdo State is situated. The over 500 companies are only in thẹ fertile imaginations of Obaseki and his supporters . The other one is the campaign of Gelegele sea Port. Obaseki campaigned with this in 2016 and without a stone moved at the site, hẹ has started campaigning with it again in his quest for a second term. Nigeria has recorded 684 new cases of COVID-19, the Centre for Disease Control has announced. The new reported cases has increased the total incidence to 23298, with Lagos recording the highest number of cases so far. At least one case was recorded in 19 states of the Federation, with 259 reported in Lagos alone. Nigeria’s total active cases now stand at 14491 cases after 8253 withdrawals. The cases recorded are as follows: Lagos-259 Oyo-76 Katsina-69 Delta-66 Rivers-46 Ogun-23 Edo-22 Osun-22 Ebonyi-21 FCT-20 Kaduna-16 Ondo-10 Imo-9 Abia-9 Gombe-5 Plateau-4 Bauchi-4 Ekiti-2 Anambra-1 23,298 confirmed 8,253 discharged 554 deaths The death rate currently stands at 2.37%, a significant improvement from the previous figures that have hovered around 3.0%.
